General First a word of advice, since a lot of kinky stuff is destined to be put into body cavities, please think of which materials are used for what. For example, sticking a nickel plated plug into your butt is a bad idea if you then find out you or later someone else has a nickel allergy! A reaction in that region would be a right pain in the ass. A lot of plastics contains phthalates (softeners), which isn't too good to have inside the body. Generally, if you need to have something that goes inside the body or has direct contact with skin, make it out of silicone or surgical stainless steel. Surgical stainless steel is good as you can be sure it is nickel free. As far as I have researched, POM (Polyoxymethylene plastic http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyoxymethylene ) is ok to put into body cavities. If this isn't the case, please let me know QUICKLY!. Now the question of aluminium ( AKA aluminum). This has the advantage over stainless steel that is is easier to work with and it's cheaper, but I am unsure if used internally with safety. Aluminium is known to be hazardous to the body. Can it affect the body If, for example, it is used for a butt plug? I've seen aluminium enema nozzles on the web but if any one can any one give me a heads up on using aluminium internally I would be grateful. Also take care when using any form of alloy when making toys - do you really know what they contain? Some of the trace elements can be very harmful. Button Lock Project. The buttons were both made from notionally 25mm diameter stock. This allows you to turn it and get a nice finish. The grey rod was bought from RC-Components, and has part number 680-735, RS only stocks grey PVC. The red colour was chosen to give the buttons a more institutional look. I don't know it worked.. ;)(Ed-well we think it works very well and it also makes them easier to find too!). The red stock was found on e-bay, from a seller named batho2006. He also supply POM, aluminium, etc. and ships all round the EU. Please note that although he accepts PayPal but does not like doing as it can hold up delivery until the money appears in his account. Bank transfer is much quicker. He will try and help you by speaking English if needed. Final point - Don't be tempted to make the button locks in POM, one of the properties of POM, is that it is self lubricating, this makes gluing it very difficult.
