Helmet Wear App for Andriod

I have again been creative on the kinky side, this time I have been trying to unleash the kinky potential in my Android phone.

I have created a small app that makes it easy to log, when I take my helmet on and off. The program then uses the logs to calculate the helmet to non helmet time ratio, and notify me if I get below a given threshold.

I have attached a screenshot from the main and setup screen, to give you an idea of what it is all about..

I'm not sure that this kind of app would fit Android Market, so I've asked The Institute to host it.

I have also made a description of the program which I hope makes sense..:

I am the type of guy who likes to set up different rules in the daily living, one of them is that I must sleep with one of my epilepsy helmets on.. ;) However this is not practical, when I don't sleep at home, since I don't want all my friends to know about my rather special interest in the area. So instead of having to sleep with a helmet on every night, I have set up an alternative rule, that I'll have to wear my helmet at least 30% of the time. This equates to approx 7 hours out of 24, or roughly a bit more time than what I usually spend in my bed. This way, if I skip a night, the time balance will go negative, and I'll have to wear the helmet at other times to make up for lost time. On the other hand, I can also build up a credit of helmet free time which I am able to off set if I know that I am going on vacation, or some other place, where I will not be able to sleep in my helmet.

To help keep track of my helmet usage, I wrote a small app for Android, since I'm always near my phone, which happens to run Android.. ;) So now there is no excuse for not recording when I do not wear my helmet, and it is easy to see if the helmet vs. non helmet ratio is kept at the desired level.

This is the first version, even though I have done my best to test the app, do expect some bugs ;)

The program is rather simple, on the main screen you update status, when you take your helmet on or off, then you press the green button on the screen. If you press Menu and choose exit, or if you press the back button, the status will not be updated.

In the setup screen which is accessed from the menu, you can set up the percentage of time that you must wear your helmet, and you also have the possibility to select a date from where the statistics should start.

The backup and restore copies the statistics to or from a selected location on the sd card. Don't do this when the phone is connected to a computer, as the sd card might be inaccessible.

In the main screen, you can see your current balance of helmet free time, i.e. how long you can leave your helmet off, without going negative on the time balance, the grace is a more human readable version of the same data. Other info on the main screen should be pretty self explanatory, unless I add some weird stuff after updating this text.. ;)

If you actually use the program, please drop me a line on helmetboy # theoriginalinstitute.com  If you  want to contact me for advice use  the following address inserting @ in place of the #

And this program of course, comes with absolutely no warranty what so ever.. which means that neither Helmetboy (me) or The Institute can be held responsible for anything that happens following use or abuse of this program. So use it at your own risk, and don't ruin your social life.. ;)

In the future, the following features might be added:

Password protected settings, so you don't fiddle with the parameters, you should have other to set up the rules for you.. e-mail/sms alert, if the time balance goes negative.

When you take off the helmet, a calendar entry is added to remind you to take it on again.

Have fun and take care..
