The Institutes Enclosed Bed

The bed is fully enclosed and the four entrance doors are fitted with mortise bolts at the top and bottom of each door. The locks need a key to open and close them which can only be done from the outside.

The bed is fitted fit a fixed closely spaced bar top and it is possible to open just, one, two, three or all four of the doors.

85" long x 45" wide x 86" high

The mattress is a standard 36" width hospital model that is 6" deep

T

he bed is fitted with a fully waterproof mattress which has an additional waterproof cover fitted. The duvet and pillows are all fully waterproofed under their cotton outer covers.

The enclosure was professionally made is fitted with 1.5" padding on all sides up to a height of 3 feet. The padding can be removed if needed and does not reduce the security of the enclosure in any way.

There is storage space under the mattress support.

Although totally secure once the doors are locked, there are  points at axp 6" intervals for additional restraints to be fitted  all around the mattress.

Curtains can be drawn around the bed to prevent the occupant seeing into the room.

Air treatments of many types can be administered to the patient either automatically or on demand.

It is not possible for the occupant to reach the air equipment through the bars.

Note the patient monitoring camera (centre top). This works in zero light. Sound and vision are monitored and alarms can be triggered by either movement and/or sound. Three cameras are fitted for 100% coverage.

Two feed hood. Note the air switch (red to the left of the hood) which can be given to the patient to self administer their treatments. There are wireless alarm push buttons in the bed which can be hand held by the patient when needed.

Note the handcuffs (above left hand pipe) which are sometimes used to keep the occupant fully secured in a kneeling position, hands well out of the way whilst the doors are being opened. Using this simple device it is easy to maintain full control over the patient whist any adjustments are made to the enclosure, patients dress or ambulatory restraints are being fitted or removed.

Another picture of one of the cameras and a view of the top. The top is braced with wooden 'I' beams for strength.

Single feed gasmask used with some air treatments.

For sensory depravation and hypno treatments it is possible to pipe sound to specialist headphones worn under the various air deliver hoods. Continuous loop and timed sessions are possible.
